VAST ad specs

VAST ads play through the IMA SDK as an overlay on the Experiences player. The tables below set limits by aspect ratio (9:16 vertical or 16:9 horizontal), depending on placement. Limits apply to the ad creative (the MP4 in the VAST tag), not the Experiences Videos content type. Asset limits are separate from custom native ad specs. For GAM steps, see GAM VAST format.

Creative guidelines

• Sound-off: The creative should deliver the message even when the viewer watches without sound or the player mutes audio.
• Text: Use short, readable on-screen copy. On horizontal 16:9 placements, use type large enough for desktop and embedded web.
• Motion: Avoid rapid cuts, shaky footage, or excessive motion that hurts compression or clarity.
• Contrast: Strong contrast between background and text.
• Frame edges: Keep logos, text, and product details away from the outer edges. Player controls, progress bars, and ad chrome often cover the bottom and corners of the overlay.
• Opening frame: On horizontal placements, communicate brand or campaign in the first frame. Do not rely on a payoff only at the end.
• Background: Keep backgrounds minimal or static to help meet file size limits in the specifications table.
• Captions: Add captions or burned-in text when dialogue or voiceover carries the message (see the specifications table).
