Stream tokenization
Stream tokenization protects your videos and live streams at the CDN, so a stream URL cannot be copied and played outside your app. Tokenization is enabled per account by WSC Sports and needs no code changes beyond setting the viewer token.
Integration
Set a token that identifies the viewer, either on init or later through setExternalUserToken. This is the same token Content entitlements uses. On a tokenized account it is required: without it, no video or live stream plays. The SDK raises onContentRestricted with the missing-token reason for the item, and checks the item again once a token is set.
Everything else is handled by the SDK. Your widgets, players, and delegates work as before.
What is covered
- Covered: videos and live streams, in widgets, the inline player, and the full-screen player.
- Not covered: Stories and Moments. They play as they do today.
When a stream cannot play
A stream the CDN refuses fails like any other stream that cannot load: the player shows its standard error state and the SDK reports the standard playback error.
