SDK impact on app performance
- The SDK has minimal performance impact on load times, battery, and memory usage.
- The SDK uses hardware acceleration for video decoding, which minimizes CPU usage and battery consumption.
- Caching and prefetching policies are controlled by the app.
App size
The actual app size depends on your individual app. For example, the fully built WSC Sports sample app is 25 MB and has a cache of about 700 MB.
However, more complex apps can be much larger; for example, Instagram is 478MB and allows a much larger cache, with cache sizes exceeding 2.5GB.
