IMA module - iOS
Use this module for VAST video ads as an overlay on the Experiences player. IMA (Interactive Media Ads) integrates with the Experiences SDK for iOS.
Set up the IMA module
1. Add the dependency
Add the module with CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager (SPM), or by adding the framework manually.
CocoaPods
In your Podfile, add BlazeIMA next to the Experiences SDK pod:
source 'https://github.com/WSCSports/blaze-specs-ios.git'
target 'YourProjectName' do
use_frameworks!
pod 'BlazeSDK', '~> VersionNumber'
pod 'BlazeIMA', '~> VersionNumber'
endSwift Package Manager
Follow the steps in SDK integration.
Manual
- Download the source from the WSC Sports blaze-specs-ios repository.
- Add the files to your project.
2. Enable ads
Call from your AppDelegate (or equivalent app entry point):
BlazeIMA.shared.enableAds(delegate: BlazeIMADelegate?)To disable:
BlazeIMA.shared.disableAds()Ad prefetching
To keep ad transitions smooth, the SDK prefetches IMA ads automatically. As the viewer approaches an upcoming ad slot, the SDK requests the IMA VAST ad ahead of time (reusing a single IMAAdsLoader for the session) and caches the result:
- If the ad is ready when the slot is reached, it plays immediately, with no mid-playback loading pause.
- If the request returns no-fill, errors, or times out, the slot is skipped silently. No loader or black screen is shown to the viewer.
This behavior is built into the SDK and needs no extra configuration. Enabling IMA ads as shown above is enough to use prefetching.
